It is important to speak to the doctor you choose before your baby is due to find out about hospital and office visits, discuss feeding preferences, learn how calls are handled (call time, answering service, etc.) and fees. You have time now to find a physician who best suits your needs and is most compatible with your ideas on childcare and parenting.
WHO DO I CALL?
Harvard University offers several different health plans to students, faculty, and staff. Listed below you will find a brief description of what is offered by the health plans used by most HUHS patients. If you have further questions, please do not hesitate to call Member Services at 617-495-2008.
HUGHP MEMBERS: May use HUHS or a HUGHP affiliated Pediatric Group (please see HUGHP clinician directory for details).
Adding Baby to your insurance: If your health plan is an individual plan, you must contact the HU Benefits Office to change to a family plan and add your baby (617-496-4001). You will also need to call Member Services (495-2008) to get an ID number to make a pediatrics appointment.
