The CDC recommends that everyone six months of age and older receive a yearly flu vaccine. HUHS will be administering the inactivated, regular flu vaccine by injection in the muscle of the arm. The vaccine takes about two weeks after vaccination for your body to develop an immune response. Flu season usually peaks in January or Februray and can last through the spring. For more information on this year's vaccine, please see www.cdc.gov/flu.
Immunizations for infants and children are not part of the general clinics. Pediatric flu vaccination clinics will be held separately for HUHS pediatric patients. Please contact HUHS Pediatrics at 617-495-4172 for information or to make a private appointment to receive the vaccine.
